Gonçalo Ramos scored the winner as Portugal defeated Norway 2–1 in Oslo on Sunday, September 27, maintaining their perfect start to the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League as Erling Haaland reached 65 goals.

Portugal now have six points from their opening two matches in the UEFA Nations League. Norway remained on three points after Portugal brought their 14-match unbeaten home run to an end.

Félix Gives Portugal the Early Advantage

João Félix opened the scoring in the 17th minute, completing an organized attack with a precise finish. It was his second goal in two successive games, following his winner in Portugal’s 1–0 victory over Wales in their opening fixture. UEFA.com

Norway nevertheless created opportunities to respond before half-time but Ruben Dias and Diogo Costa prevented them from scoring the equalizer.

Norway eventually found their equaliser in the 51st minute through Haaland after Diogo Costa failed to hold Martin Ødegaard’s free-kick.

Ramos Restores the Lead After Nyland Mistake

Norway’s recovery lasted just three minutes. Goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland misplaced a pass directly to Ramos, who responded with a great finish from outside the box.

Portugal soon threatened to increase their advantage. Rafael Leão’s deflected effort struck the crossbar, but Ramos sent the rebound wide. The striker subsequently found the net again following another defensive mix-up involving Nyland, only for a video assistant referee review to rule the goal out for offside in the build-up. Ronaldo’s Goal Chase Pauses

Cristiano Ronaldo stayed on the bench, so his career total remains at 979 goals. He still needs 21 goals to reach the 1,000-goal mark. Portugal also managed to win the match without Bruno Fernandes as the Manchester United captain was not available due to injury and did not make the squad. For Norway, the result contrasted with their opening 3–2 victory over Denmark.
